LIA Annual Awards Gala - May 14, 2010

The LIA Annual Awards Gala is Long Island’s largest and most prestigious business and social evening. This formal black-tie dinner dance honors corporate leaders and companies that have made Long Island a better place to live and work. The evening includes a lavish cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, entertainment, and high-end raffles. Sponsorship of this event positions your company in front of an influential and important audience of business leaders. 

•  Audience Reach      More than 1,000 people, representing a “Who’s Who” of this region’s business, labor, academic and political leaders come together to celebrate prominent Long Islanders who make a difference and enjoy a great evening. 
  
• Previous Honorees      At the Annual Awards Gala, the LIA annually presents a Medal of Honor and the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award for Community Service. In some years, the LIA also presents a Lifetime Achievement Award.
  •  Previous Medal of Honor honorees have included: Emblem Health - Anthony L.  Watson and Employees; Arrow Electronics, Inc. and Employees; North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System -  President Michael Dowling and Employees; OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Employees; Vytra Health Plans and Employees; Davis Vision, Inc.; and the Employees of KeySpan, to name a few. 
  • Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award honorees have included: Frank Bolton, LI Ducks; Elena M. Perez (posthumously) Bank of America; Irving Klein, Retired CEO, Kaufman Enterprises; Clark Gillies, The Clark Gillies Foundation; Marty Lyons, The Marty Lyons Foundation; Joseph Mancino, Roslyn Savings Bank; and Donald E.   • Lifetime Achievement Award honorees have included: Robert B. Catell, Chairman, US National Grid; Donald Rechler, Partner, Rechler Equity LLC; John V. N. Klein, Chairman, Meyer Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C.; George J. Farrell, Jr., Senior Partner, Farrell Fritz, P.C.; and Dr. James D. Watson, Co-Discoverer of the DNA Molecule.

• Sponsorships/ Participation     Various sponsorship and underwriting packages are available (Packages provide better table location: table of 12, ads and 12 raffle tickets). Also available: individual tables of 12, individual tickets, Commemorative Journal and Seating Guide ads. 
  
• Publications      Commemorative Journal distributed the evening of the Gala to all guests. Advertising opportunities include full color Diamond Page, Gold Page, Silver Page, Full Page, Half Page and Quarter Page.
  
• High-profile Seating Guide provided to all guests for locating their table and/or seat, as well as to identify where other guests are seated. Advertising opportunities are limited to premium sponsorship packages.

Annual Meeting Luncheon

The Annual Meeting Luncheons are LIA’s flagship events showcasing nationally renowned speakers, providing insights into local, national, and world events. For businesses large and small, these luncheons also provide the perfect venue to network, entertain clients, and gain brand exposure in front of a large distinguished audience.

• LIA Speakers - A “Who’s Who” of  Leaders      Speakers at LIA luncheons have included former President George Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush, former President Bill Clinton and  former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and James A. Baker III.  In addition, the Annual Meeting Luncheons have hosted:
  
  From the Defense and Military arena: Generals Norman Schwartzkopf and Tommy Franks and Defense Secretary William Cohen.

•  Annual Meeting & Luncheon      Held in January or February this event begins with a 9:30 a.m. General 
  Membership Meeting that features an Annual Address by LIA President Matthew T. Crosson. Each year, this event formally introduces the new members of the Board of Directors and future goals of the organization. The Luncheon includes an 11:00 a.m. Cocktail Reception followed by the official luncheon from noon to 2:00 p.m.
